"Hi! This is John on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, I will be taking you through the process for preparing our wall. The wall that we have here is made of cinder blocks. A lot of times along these mortar joints it will crack and/or leak so you want to make sure to take a look at those and fix any cracks. They do sell some compound to put in there at your hardware store. We are going to use masonry water proofer. This material will be painted on just like regular paint and that is going to soak in to all the cracks and crevices in the masonry block and this is going to help seal it so that when we frame the wall there is less of a chance that any moisture might go through the wall. Now when you put this on, you are going to want to get a nice big brush and we are going to dip it in the paint and then we are going to work it into our masonry. You are going to really want to work it into all the cracks in the crevices in there to make sure that everything gets sealed. "
