"In this video clip, I will be talking about choosing drywall. There are a lot of different choices when you choose drywall. The drywall that I have chosen for this project is 5/8’s of an inch thick. They also sell half inch thick and 3/8’s inch thick drywall. The reason I chose the thicker drywall is because it is for a garage wall, so you might have a car door open into the drywall. With a thicker drywall it is less likely to put a hole through the drywall, and more likely just to put a dent. I have also chosen a fire resistant drywall. When it comes to fire, you want all the protection that you can have. If you happen to be dry walling in a bathroom, you are going to want to use a mold and mildew resistant drywall. In addition, there are many other types of drywall for different areas that you are dry walling. Lastly I’ve chosen an 8 foot sheet of drywall because my walls are under 8 feet tall. It wouldn’t be very smart to buy a 12 foot section and just have to cut off 4 feet of it."
