Basic Painting Tips & Techniques

" Hi! This is John on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip I will be talking some basic painting tips and techniques. First off if you have any electrical wiring or boxes that you don't want paint to get on, a good way to cover those up is to take some masking tape and put it over that box. You may need a couple of pieces of masking tape to fully cover that box. At the top of our ceiling where our wall meets our ceiling there is a gap now when I paint I'm only going to paint as close as I can to the ceiling without getting paint on the ceiling. If for some reason there is a little strip of area that has not been painted at the top that is okay because I'm not going to worry about it because there is going to be a 2 inch piece trim covering up that area. So it is not necessary to be very very precise up at the top just do a basic paint job. The same goes for the bottom at our floor we are going to have trim go over the bottom so we don't have to be very precise when we are painting the bottom either. We could leave a little bit gap and much like our primer we are going to roll that on in a nice even layer. "
