"In this clip, we're going to be marking and drilling a ventilation hole for our sliding glass door. You often find that you want to be able to lock your door open just slightly. Maybe so that a cat or dog, obviously a small one, can come and go. Or simply for ventilation into your home. You want to decide how much room you want make. Six inches is usually the best because it's not large enough for anybody to get through and it still allows for ventilation. This one I'm simply going to eyeball it about 6 inches. We're going to mark it the same way we did in a previous clip by simply shutting our lock, pressing against the track, and then outlining where that goes. Now, there's 2 things you can do. You can center; find the center of the lock bolt, or you can draw all the way around it. I'm just going to find the center of it, I also found the top. The center here tells me where the hole needs to go. At this point, really all I have to do is eyeball it because we're not worried about the door being shut and locked. Once I've done that, I'm just going to put my punch right there and simply mark it so that the drill doesn't wander. I'm going to just start with my step bit on this particular one. Then all we have to do is open it up, find the hole, and make sure that the lock goes in."
