"Hi! I'm Daniel on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip, we are ready to install the deadbolt. Now every deadbolt is a little bit different. This particular deadbolt is fairly easy to install. It is a weiser deadbolt, a single cylinder and of course you want to make sure put the lock on the left side you don't want to have to take it off and reinstall it. This one obviously this is the out side door. The hardest part of putting a deadbolt in making sure that your tail piece if flip on the right direction. If it is not, it doesn't function because the latch always flips from the back over the top to the front the front being where the latch is. You want to make sure that your tail piece in that direction and this direction it happens to be clockwise from the outside. So we turn it all the way clockwise and then we could simply insert it in. at that point there is two plates one is a secure plate which holds everything nice and tight the other one is simply or latch plate or our thumb turn plate. Run your main bolts through. If you are having any problems winding them up. You could always just look through winding them up and just screw them in. Of course, you do the same thing through the other one. Now you use your screwdriver to tighten them up. Now the screw should hold the lock straight. You shouldn't have any problems being offset but you could always turn it around and look to make sure and adjust where it needs to be. When you install your thumb turn, you will see what you can put this into place and sometimes you may see it installed that way. The proper way is so that it always points up when it is unlocked and that of course, is locked. "
