"Hi I'm Daniel on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip we are going to be installing the latch for our deadbolt. A couple of things to keep in mind are our backsetis 2 3/8. Now most latches now days they come where they simply convert. This one you twist and it gets longer. That would be 2 ¾. You want to make sure on the 2 3/8. If you have any doubts, simply put it up to the door and make sure that it centers where your mechanism goes through. This one is a drive in. We went with a drive in because it is just simple on a door like this. We could of mortised it out like we did our strike plate but on this one all we need to do is just make sure that we are straight and then we take a hammer or a rubber mallet and just tap it in until it is flushed. What you want to do after you have done that is just double check by opening the door making sure that everything is in alignment and you put it to the right backset."
