Hot air rises so most of the hot air escape is going to be through the top so it is important that the hot tub cover actually provides a seal. So it does that by sealing to the spa lip. It is important that you select a cover to make sure that the fit and the finish of the cover matches up with the contours of the cover itself. Most of the time that is going to be taken care of you for the spa dealer but it is important to know that when you are considering purchasing a cover for your spa several years down the road. When you are maintaining your cover, you will get tree sap, dirt, different debris on your cover. The most important thing to do is to note that it is a vinyl cover and that any sort of spray or degreaser you use to maintain vinyl, you can use on a spa cover. In order to know whether or not it is really clean, you will only know once it is dry because there are a lot of crevices on the cover itself. "
