"Hi, this is Jeff Naylor from Medtronics in Mesa, Arizona for Expert Village. In this next section we will discuss the various tools and supplies necessary for soldering. Now not all the tools seen here are required but they sure make life a lot easier. First and most important is a soldering iron with adjustable temperature. There are many different brands you can choose from. Next we have our resin core solder. This is the most common type used in this type of repair. We have de-soldering braid used for removing solder. We have de-soldering sucker which uses a vacuum to remove solder. We have a set of small pliers. Some hemostats. Wire cutters. Automatic wire strippers. Razor blade. Safety glasses. And last but not least, a bench vise. This was a basic overview of what I use on a day-to-day basis. Now it's nice if you have all these tools, but if you don't, the only tools that are really required for today's lesson will be the soldering iron, the solder, a pair of good wire strippers, and some kind of solder removal device, whether it be the braid or the solder sucker. Soldering seems simple, but you have to be prepared. In our next section we're gonna discuss SAFETY."
