Hi, this is Jeff Naylor from Medtronics in Mesa, Arizona for Expert Village. Today we will be discussing basic soldering technique for electronics. Soldering is the joining of two metals together with a molten alloy. In our case for electronics, we are soldering two pieces together to get them to conduct. We will discuss some of the tools needed for soldering. We will discuss some of the safety precautions necessary. (Safety) We will show you how to solder a resistor into a circuit board, remove a resistor from a circuit board, fix mic cables, fix instrument cables and fix speaker cables. After today's lecture you should have all the skills needed for simple electronic repair. In our next segment, I will go through all the necessary tools needed for soldering.
