"Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, I'll be talking about extension cords. There is a lot of cases where you're going to need to use your vacuum in a place that is a long distance from an electrical outlet. In this case, you're going to need to find a good extension cord. First off your extension cord must be able to except the three prong plug coming out of your vacuum. The other end of your extension cord must be able to fit into a three prong outlet. Additionally, your users manual will have a chart that will tell you how big of extension cord you need for the distance that you're going to be going. Before you use an extension cord, you want to make sure and inspect the entire length of the cord, what you're looking for are any type of cracks, tears, ware marks. Maybe if the extension cord got caught on something sharp and tore a little chunk out of it you're going to be looking for any type of damage to the cord. If it is damaged, you want to make sure to either get a new cord or get it properly fix before you use it. "
