Examine Your Roof for Loose Shingles & Other Damage

"Hi! This is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, we will checking the roof for loose or missing shingles. To check for any loose or missing shingle, you just want to take a close look at your roof. If there are any areas that might look loose, just kind of pry the shingles up just a little bit to make sure that they are secure and that they are not going to fly off if you get any wind. Now the reason why we really want to check the shingles is that if we get any snow build up and it starts to melt, we don't want any water to get underneath our shingles and give us any water problems in our attic or our ceiling. Now one of the key problems areas is at the ridge of the peak of our roof, this has a tendency to get wind underneath it and try to pry the shingles back. So when you get to this point, you really want to take extra close look at your roof to make sure that you are not missing any shingles or that there are any loose ones. "
