Video Transcript

"Hi, this is Jon on behalf of ExpertVillage. In this video clip, I'll be talking about personal safety. First and foremost, you want to stay alert. You want to watch what you're doing and use common sense when operating the belt sander. Next, you want to make sure that your clothes are somewhat tight fitting. You'll notice my shirt isn't very loose. In addition, I'm not wearing any watches or other dangly jewelry. Before I plug in the belt sander, I always like to squeeze the trigger and release it just to make sure that the tool is in the off position. Next, you want to make sure you have a good pair of eye protection that is Z87 approved. Since using the belt sander does kick up a lot of dust, it's always good practice to wear some type of a dust mask or respirator."
