"Hi! I'm Drew Finn here for Expert Village. Today we are going to talk about how to use and maintain a chainsaw. Now we will discuss fuel mixtures. You have a 2 cycle engine so you have to mix oil in with the gasoline for your chainsaws. Now most of them are around 50 to 1 but read your manual to see. Your manual has all kinds of good safety rules and stuff and it also tells you the gas mixture and oil mixture. So this steel container says it is a 50 to 1. What that means and underneath it tells to mix it with 2 1/2 gallons of gas. So if we dump the whole container in and then we get 2 1/2 gallons of gasoline in here, we've got the correct mixture. It is critical that we do get the correct mixture. So if you have a little bit of gas left, you can't be adding queer amounts because you may get an incorrect mixture. It is extremely important for the life of the chainsaw and its performance to have the correct mixture of gas. Take the cap off and I've already got the gas in there this time. I am going to put the oil can in to get the oil out of it, check it and its out and we'll put the cap back on. Once we've got the 2 mixtures together, we'll give it a good shake because we want the oil well distributed and then we are all ready to fuel our chainsaw. "
