The refrigerator is probably one of the world’s most favored appliances, because it holds the unique honor of keeping our food cold and fresh. It provides a cool drink of water on a whim, and keeps our favorite flavor of ice cream from melting into a drippy oblivion. Yet the advent of the fridge had a practical purpose to it as well. Although it’s hard to imagine life without the Kenmore, at one time it wasn’t so ordinary to have easy access to cold beer, or to be able to keep meats frozen for extended periods of time. However, city life made it difficult not to have an appliance this useful. Therefore, a repository of gastronomic goodies was introduced to the home in the 20s that has since captured our hearts, by way of our stomachs.
In this free how-to video series, our expert will give you some practical tips when it comes to cleaning your refrigerator, from emptying it completely and throwing old things out, to combating mold growth, to even checking the rubber gaskets for leaks.
Aside from inspiring deep questions—does the light go out when we shut the door—the refrigerator holds promises of good tastes and good times. Keep Amana beautiful.
"Hi! I am Drew Finn. We are going to talk about how to clean and maintain your refrigerator for Expertvillage.com. The tools we are going to need today to clean our refrigerator will be the brush. We'll use to clean elements underneath, very important to keep the efficiency of the system up, some plastic gloves, cleaning agent, sponge, paper towels and a vacuum cleaner. Any household vacuum cleaner will do, we need a plastic cover on it. I duct taped them, some of the metals, so we would not have metal contact for conductivity. I will explain that later when cleaning underneath with any household vacuum cleaner, and then we will need a trash can for the stuff you fail to throw away before, as we go through the refrigerator, and a cooler to put the frozen stuff and try and keep it falling out too quickly.
