"Hi I am Drew Fendy, Finn master home inspector. I have been inspecting for over 24 years. We are going to tie into the main power box in the basement that we have located. It has got the right-sized wire, the 14 gauge going in, which is rated 15 amps and at 15 amps breaker is what turned it off. We want to verify that power is off, lot more safety. This detector will tell you when the power is on. This particular wire, if the power is on it lights up. The wires for our box, we have checked them both, its off. The power is off so we are safe. But after we take the cover off we are going to check again. So let’s remove that cover or take the face plate off. On this you don't have to take the screws completely out and we are going to double check the wires inside. Make sure they are not hot. I checked all three just in case someone has something wired incorrectly and then of course if it was hot we would have the red light lighting up."
