"Hello, my name is Grady Johnson and I'm a professional painter and today I represent ExpertVillage.com. Now we're going to talk a little bit about the materials we're going to need to be able to paint this with an oil base paint. Now, to start with we're going to need oil based paint, which is an alkaline. It will say alkaline oil base right on the can. There's basically two types. I have a deep color that will have a deep tint, and then just your normal tinting base. Now, the guy at the paint store, or gal, will mix all of that up for you. So, all you need to do is tell them the colors you want. Just be sure that the color charts you're looking at is for oil base paints. Now, whenever we're cleaning up with oil base paints, we're going to have to use mineral spirits. Now, mineral spirits will be provided at the store as well, and be sure to use mineral spirits. Don't let them talk you into anything hotter, or it's going to burn like heck. Okay? Never clean up with gasoline, either. That's just a bad idea, it's way too flammable. Now, once you get done with everything, you want to clean yourself up, or if you get any paint on you like a big glob falls on you, or something, use hand cleaner like mechanics do. This hand cleaner breaks down the grease and the oils in the paint. Just like a mechanic when he gets his hands all greasy. And here we're going to find our prep materials. We're going to find an acrylic latex caulking, that's the best kind to use. Use the brilliant white, that way you can see the beads that you are using. And then use some light weight spackling. Now the light weight spackling, what that does is fill up all those little holes and everything as you come across them. Now, we're going to clean up a little bit, so I have included here some cleansers. You'll see here we've got some abrasive cleanser here to clean the tough spots. I've got a disinfectant cleanser here to kind of kill the bugs. And then also a glass cleaner as well. You may want to add something that's a mildew cleaner. You may want to do some mopping too. Whatever you need to do to go ahead and clean up the area before you start to paint. And these are all of the materials that you're going to need to be able to paint your bathroom in an oil base paint."
