"All right so now we got the paint all dried and we gave it about three or four hours. I actually let this dry about five hours before I came back to it. You want to be sure it dries real well and if it starts to bleed through especially with white paint go ahead and give it another coat if you got the paint. We are going to go ahead with this one now and we are going to put the hardware on. Take this apart and the first part that is going to go in here is our post. Now the key thing to remember with this post is this needs to be square with the door. It is going to strike the plate here so you want to be sure that is pointed that way as well as opposed to that. So we are going to put that in the door now and under there with your fingers good and snug, screw it in with your gun good and tight. They are pretty soft screws usually so you want to get them on the first shot. We are going to go ahead and put the door handle on now and grab out post in place good and snug. There are two things that are very important. You will notice we want this key to be straight up and down and we want to be sure that both of these fit in the side holes. It is very important that we get all of these lined up so there are three holes that we have to go through. You are going to see those reflected right here on the door; one, two, three. So we are going to put that on through now and make sure that here is where we want it. Put it through the holes and get it nice and snug. Just hold it with your fingers like this and just snap into place. Now we are going to take our two screws these are the longer ones that are in the screw kit. We are going to pop those into our holes here, hold this together with your hand, pop it into place and get it started a little. Now go ahead and work that done as far as you can get it, finger tight. This is a ratcheting screwdriver. Make sure that you use the smaller bit because it has to get in there right. You don’t want to roll it over the top of it and strip it. Get it nice and snug. So what we are going to do is put this on now and once you have the striker in it should close properly. That is how we upgraded the door. Hope you had as much fun as I did. Happy painting."
