"Now I have inserted the grater blade into the mandoline slide. This does not have the hooks that you would find on some of the other blades. So when you put your slide on the rack, you have to do it the right way. You are going to actually hold it up with your finger. Again you are going to use approximately a 2 inch slice of cheese to grate and I do find that using cheese in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes works a little better. The softer cheese crumbles. So you are going to put your cheese on your prongs. Place it in the food holder, slide it up and slide it down gently. It would simply grate your cheese for your pizza or salad. This would also be good if want to do it with carrots or any other vegetables that you needed grated. That is what you would get with a stainless steel blade. "
