" Hi! This is Diana for Expert Village.com and today we are steam cleaning the carpet with a rented machine called the Rug Doctor. We got this machine from our local Long’s Drug Store and I am sure that you can rent them in other places too. So I would like to give you a few reasons why you should steam clean your carpet every six months or at least once a year. It brings out dust mites and mold that is hiding lower in your carpet that regular vacuuming may not pick up and that makes a healthier environment for people with asthma and allergies. It also extends the life of your carpet because keeping your carpet clean will keep the fibers more vibrant and make your carpet beautiful longer. There are certain kinds of things that a steam cleaner cannot bring up. If you have spilled ink or a large amount of liquid, the steam cleaner pulling the water up out of your carpet may also pull the stain up. In that case, you will have to get your cloth and blot the stain until it is almost dry and then you can use your steam cleaner. "
