" Hi I'm Drew Finn here for expertvillage.com we are going to show you how to install garage door opener today this is being filmed by Black Dog Video you could visit us at blackdogvideo.biz. Now we are almost done we just have to test the safety futures on it. I wanted to point out there is a up force and a down force that we adjust with and this one happen to be on the side using a screwdriver sometimes or a little nub sticking out, knob sticking out that you turn. How they could be out in the front or the back to side just look around. Around your motor unit and you would find closure and open forces. Now some units like this one on the other side also has a distance travel force. You could adjust how far the door goes. You set it up for the particular door that you have. The older ones some of them have sensors lights on the rails on the rails it self which tells it where to stop and were to go. Now we are going to test the door out. I like using the hand held thing just encase you have to stop it quick plus you could get to different sides and look at the travel. So first we would go up with it. It is looking good. What I care about here is where it stops. There is a stop on the a mechanical stop on the rail we are short of that so that is good we don't want it to be hitting the mechanical stop to stop. We will go down with it also and what you want to do is put it all well watch were it stops. Okay that worked really well. You want to look down at a angle and make sure that we don't have any gaps under it and if we did you adjust the closure force. On this particular unit one full revolution of the screw gives you two inches of travel. So you know if you are up a inch you would turn the screw half a turn and it would get to the approximate area and you may have to play with it to go back and forth to get it to the right area."
