"We are going to show you how to install garage door opener today this is being filmed by Black Dog Video you could visit us at blackdogvideo.biz. Now we are going to mount the drive head to the ceiling. First we do the first thing that we do is lift it up and support it on the ladder temporally. So I got that over there and we are going to open the garage door and make sure that we got enough height clearance on it. So when we get the garage door up what we need to do is put a 2x4 underneath the bar and the one in a half inch is about the clearance that they recommend. From there we mount our mounting brackets to the ceiling and have the correct height. We have lifted the door up. We have installed a 2x4 to give us the proper spacing and now we have to install the ceiling bracket to hold the motor drive unit. So what I need the motor drive unit about this height. So I measure that out and this is where I want it to start bending from. So we are going to mount this right in here. Okay got that nice and snug. Now we just need to bend the bracket down to attach to here. We want to make sure we keep everything square. This would bend at that joint. A nice little twist in here won't hurt the structural interrogate of it. We put the other bracket on here we could tie the two together that would secure it. Now we put a bolt from here down through the drive unit. Now we come up we can mount the first bolt in the bottom of the head. We be sure to use a lock washer in this installation because the vibration and stuff would obviously it could vibrate and come loose and this is something that we don't want dropping down. Yes. We go to the other side and we do the same thing. Now we have connected the bracket on the other side as we did on the first side bolted the two together. We got it firmly mounted and we are all set to go. Now you want to remember to take the 2x4 off that we have as a spacer so you don't drop it on your head when you are closing the door."
