on 11/13/2008 awesome; I will mostly put to use the inside cut, it is bound to increase the efficiency of the drilling beyond expectation, especially when at the starting to bore the hole

Video Transcript

"WILLIE: Hi, my name is Willie. I'm from Carson Saw Shop here in Eugene, Oregon and I've been sharpening tools here for 25, 30 years and I'm here with Expert Village today. This time, I have some regular, spiral metal cutting drill bits I'm going to sharpen, and I usually do them on this side of the wheel too. You just look at the bit and see what angles it has on it. It depends on what application you're going to use it for. This is just regular drill press application, so you start back own on the heel, and then work your way in at about the same point, and you pivot with your hand. And then, of course, you always gotta look, to see if it looks like it's even. A lot of times, you can hold it up to the light in the window and look out. Maybe it needs a little inside cut on there, make it feed better. But you can get the basic idea of how they have to go. A lot of it is just repetition. You keep doing the same move every time. Then, you'll have the same constant grind. This one needs inside cut, pretty thick in the middle so it probably wouldn't feed very good if I left it without cutting it. That helps to get the cutting edge all the way to the inside. Those are completed."
