"Herbs grow in dry soil that is not necessarily good, rich soil. It’s soil that’s like the Mediterranean soil. And I live in central Texas and our soil here, because of the limestone and the lakes and everything, is very similar to the Mediterranean soil. And this is a great place to grow herbs. When you choose your herbs, you want to think about a couple of things. Of course, the location where you’re going to plant it. Do you want an herb that’s going to be there year round- a perennial- or do you want an herb that’s only going to be there for one season that you’re going to replace with a different plant in the other part of the year.
