Creating a Watering Schedule for Water Conservation Tips

"Hi! I'm Alison Jordan for expertvillage.com and right now I want to talk about how do you know how much water to put on your landscaping throughout the year. Do I water the same amount in June as in November? Do I water the same amount for my lawn as my water wise plants? One of the great features that we have is on the controller is a water budget feature maybe on your irrigation controller that might be called seasonal adjust or water budget and what that is you can adjust your summering watering schedule. Most people have their irrigations set for how much they need to water in the summer by a percentage as the weather reduces down. Say right now it is in January and I am going to set the water budget at 30 percent. I would just push these buttons here and push percentage and it is going to take the whole irrigation schedule down to 30 percent. Locally for our water users we can look at our website and we have watering index which will give you the percentage of what you can adjust it to. For others, just look at your local water agency website and see if they have a watering index and it will give you that information to be able to know what to adjust it to. "
