" Hi! I’m Paige on behalf of Expert Village, and today we’re talking about preparing to paint your walls and paint your ceilings and do some other fixer uppers around in this back room that I’m redecorating as my office. As apart of painting, you want to make sure that you remove everything from your walls. Face plates, screws, what have you. This is just a simple flat head screwdriver, and I’m going to unscrew these screws. It’s a very, very important to take out your face plates and not paint around them. You’ll end up getting your face plates painted, they won’t look good. This will just provide a higher quality for you. I went with a white face plate back in this room because my trim is white. You can go with cream if you prefer cream. You can do silver or brass; it really depends on the style you’re using in your house. Then I’m just going to put my screws in the face plate so that I don’t lose them and set them to the side in the kitchen. "
