"ALLYN CHRISTOPHER: This is a Polaris 180. Now, it is a pressure side automatic pool cleaner. Now, the fact that you're watching this video on how to install or rebuild kit to it we're going to assume that you already own one. But this is a great cleaner for picking up large debris around the pool. And what's different than any other pool cleaner is that it uses pressure to do so. Meaning that instead of sucking like you do with a vacuum cleaner it shoots water down in here, through this which creates a Venturi effect and sucks the water straight up, sucks the debris up into a large bag. This one has found its way to my workbench because it's in sad, sad shape. I could show you more about it but the things about it that are broken. So when you go to repair it you've got several options. You can look and identify what the broken pieces are and replace them of course, but in this case there are so many broken pieces that we're opting for the factory rebuild kit. Now they have a tune up kit and sell the parts individually but this one is so profoundly broken, and you're going to see once we get inside of her, that were opting to do a full rebuild. This kit's going to basically replace everything inside of it. In fact it actually comes with a warranty to extend on the new pieces; because you'll see when we break it down there's basically just the frame left. So this particular model, the 180 was the original Polaris, it's actually no longer being manufactured. So if you've got one, you need to bring it back to life; well the factory rebuild kit's the way to do it unless it's time to buy the new modern one."
