"Hi, we are going to be insulating these walls. It’s an older house and we recently discovered despite our thoughts they are indeed not insulated in the walls. These walls are a little harder to tell exactly where the studs are. You can kind of knock along and you can use a stud finder. Another thing I am checking because we kind of intermittently run into insulation, so I’m drilling small pilot holes with just a regular drill bit before I go to the effort of cutting a huge hole. It’s just kind of a major patchwork effort. Whereas a small hole isn't. We have a stud here so I am moving over about 8 inches and drilling my hole. Sure enough there is no insulation in that hole either. I can tell because I pull out my drill bit and nothing sticks to it. I got another whole section without insulation. "
