Prearranging Plants for Gift Baskets

"Today we're building a plant basket from live plants. We've chosen our plants. We've chosen our basket. We've got our liner in our basket. And now we're going to somewhat prearrange the flowers. We want the handle of the basket to be right down the middle of the basket. I don't like the handle showing that much and so it's kind of a personal choice thing. If you have a handle that sticks way up you can, if you put it right down the middle and arrange your plants, it wont show. Even a low handle like this wont show once we get our plants in no matter which way we set it. But I like to do it with the handle more or less perpendicular to me. Then we're going to somewhat arrange our plants. This one we're going to put in the middle in the back. And this beautiful variegated one we're going to put on the side of it. And then we're going to put our little China doll on the other side. And it gives a real contrast with the delicate leaves of the China doll over the broad leaves of the variegated and the broad leaves from the rubber tree. Then we are going to put our little Aurelia in the front in the center and put a Pathos on one side and the variegated we'll probably put on the left side there and the philodendron on the right side. And the philodendron and the Pathos will trail down over the basket eventually. And make a very beautiful statement there."
