"Normally, if we take care of them through the year, they're in pretty good shape this time of the year. Mainly, you're looking really for; to make sure they have a queen. If they have a good queen and they have good brood, then when the orange trees are blooming like they are right now, they are typically going to be doing just fine. Normally, a good colony will produce like, when the orange trees are blooming like they are now, a good colony can produce a hundred pounds of orange blossom honey. So that would be, if they filled those boxes, would be potentially three or four boxes, be kind of typical for a good hive, and sometimes they'll do five or six boxes, depending on how strong they are."
