"A great variation to the straight heel flip is learning how to do a heel flip shove it. A heel flip shove it is when you do your heel flip and then you add a front side pop shove it in with it. The tricks that you're going to want to learn before attempting this trick are going to be, you're going to want to have the heel flip very good, you're going to want to have it dialed. The other trick that you're going to need is to have front side pop shove it and be able to do those comfortably. What this is is combining the two. So what happens when you do this trick is, you set up in the normal heel flip position, the only difference is you're going to want to hang a little more toe off the board because you're going to want to send it behind you. With your back foot, you're going to want to put a little more toe on the corner of the tail as opposed to the normal straight heel flip, which required you to be in the middle of the board. So for the heel flip shove it, you'll setup with one foot on the corner and one foot on the other corner, when you hit the tail, the front foot does the flipping and sends the board over and does the flip. The back foot does the shoveiting. So as the foot, front foot flips, the back foot does the shoveiting it combines to put the trick together and send the heel flip over front side and land in a shove it. When you do this trick you set up for it, rolling forward and it shove its behind you and you land back rolling forward and roll away."
