"Hello! My name is Steve Kennedy. On behalf of Expert Village, I'm showing you some tips and techniques in solving Soduku puzzles. I'll show you another example here of a tip of solving more difficult problems. This is an exaggerated example obviously by putting all the possible number combinations in each one of the squares. This is something you should do. Obviously, not at the begining or else it gets a little crowded. Especially depending on where you're doing the puzzle. In cases where here this can only be a 7, this could only be a 3. From there, you can cross out the different ones. This is basically when you've already done the single positions and the single candidate strategy. When you start getting into the more complex strategies, this is where notations are important. You should also know that notations are apart of Soduku. You can't do a puzzle without one. The very basic ones you can probably do without, but as they start progressing, this is an invaluable tool done by everybody to get these things all solved. This is basically what they do. Depending on how much room that you need and how far progressed you are, this is all just a comfort thing. It's not anything that's standard. It could be whatever is best for you. This again is very exaggerated, but after you've done the ones that can only be possibly be the one different numbers, you can cross them off here. 1 and 9 has to be there. This has to be 4. 9 has to be down there so it's 2. You can go on from there really quickly from there. As you can see, it's mostly just logic and process of elimination really. In the next series of clips, we'll be going over some more medium strategies in solving Soduku problems. "
