"Hello! My name is Keith Kennedy on behalf of Expert Village. I'm going to be showing you some tips and techniques on solving Sudoku puzzles. As you can see, this the basic Sudoku puzzle. It's constituted up by 9 rolls and 9 columns. Each divided into 9 cubes. The object of the game is to have all of the rows and of the boxes and columns have number 1-9 with no duplications in the box, row, or column. You must also know that this is just your basic problem, but it doesn't necessarily have to be like this. They can also be symbols as long as there's 9 distinct. It can also be letters as long as there's 9 distinct letters in the word. For instance, in this case was neighbor or your typical numbers. When it first was brought over from Japan, they added 2 rules to the Sudoku puzzles. That basically is there could be no more than 30 givens. That's what they call the ones that are already there; it's called a given. It also has to be symmetrical. If you can see, the way that the puzzle is here. If you were to switch it around, the numbers would be in the same spot regarless of which way you turn the puzzle. Those are new rules and those are what are considered actual Sudoku puzzles. On our next clip, we'll show actual strategies on solving the puzzle."
