"So today I'm going to show you a few examples of flint glass that I have here, in fact this one in particular because I really like the pitchers. This is a bell flower pattern pitcher, and you can find it in Ruth Webb Lee's book, pg 17, plate number 5. And you'll see the exact same picture. She'll also talk to you about how this particular pattern is one of the most popular patterns to collect today. She'll mention a number of other patterns which we have here such as the horn of plenty in a goblet form, New England pineapple is another really popular pattern than people like to collect. So going through these books will really help you to kind of narrow down, because you can't collect everything, you have to kind of narrow down to a specific area that you think you like and either collect all goblets, which people sometimes do, or you can collect all compotes or you can put together a whole dinner service with the goblets, the egg cups, the cheries, the tumblers. That's the way you can collect. It's all a subjective thing. You'll choose what you particularly like, and you might want to choose just one patter or you might choose every pattern. Just go in sugars, covered sugars. I mean it's one of those things where it runs the gamete, you can choose a variety or you can choose a narrow in collecting. I would highly recommend getting any number of these books, one to start would be great, and then from there on you choose whichever patter or particular shape that you want."
