"When buying these pieces in pink luster and your thinking about buying for example a teapot with a cream and a sugar if you want to purchase something like this and say the teapot is in really good shape there's nothing wrong with it. You think you might want to use it but you find that when you look over the cream or the sugar that matches it there's a little damage. Well you can take into consideration if it's the sugar pot like this it has a little damage to it but your not going to put anything that's liquid into here. So you can still use this if it had a few lines in it or chips or cracks it works acceptable to you so that 's a consideration when your going out to buy a set like this. If this is a perfect teapot and you find there's a little of damage on either one of these but you can still use the teapot and that's why your buying I would say think about buying set because you can use the teapot. Where as you can buy the teapot it's damaged and these two pieces are perfect your not going to be able to use your teapot your going to buy a teapot to put it on your shelf and enjoy just having it in your house as a shelf piece. So some of the things to consider when your buying and your going to pay quit a bit more for teapot that's perfectly clean so this is something to consider when your talking about buying pieces and restoring them. Restoring is very expensive and when you think you found a teapot or a cup and saucer you have to keep in mind what the restoration fees are cause the fees can be very expensive. Repairing a teapot like this can cost you anywhere from 100-$300 depending on the damage thats done to it and you also have a teapot that you should use in an everyday use. So those are things to think about when your going to buy a piece like this what your going to buy it for. Rather your buying it for retail rather your buying it for just to have on your shelf and enjoy it or rather your buying to use it so consider restoration as a second choice when your out there trying to decide rather you buy pink luster or because your not going to be able to use it. It's going to affect the value so those are all things you need to consider when your thinking about collecting pink luster."
