"Okay, let me give you a little drill for practicing your stop shots. This would be like the drill that we had earlier with the fallow shots only we're going to start out with the balls set up thusly. We're going to have our object ball right here at the corner. And we're going to set our cue ball up for our first shot right here adjacent to the first diamond. And the objective is simply stop the cue ball. So, from this distance, as I've said before, you ought to be able to hit the cue ball right in the center, slide it over there and that?s your objective for practicing that shot and stop it dead still. But, on our next shot, it's going to get just a little bit more difficult because now we are going to leave the object ball right at that that spot that it was before but we are going to bring the cue ball back to the second diamond. And then we're going to practice hitting from that distance there to get it to stop dead still. But, you'll find, as I just did that now you have to hit it just a little bit below center. Start it off with just a little bit of back spin, get it to where it loses that back spin just prior to hitting the object ball and it will slide in to that ball. Now, once you've gotten to where you can make from that distance, then move the cue ball back to this distance. And then back to the side pocket, there, back to each diamond until you can get all the way back here and you can hit that shot and stop the cue ball right there in the corner from this distance here. Practice that over and over again. You'll get a real good feel for the speed that your need to hit every stop shot at."
