"This time it's bank shots. Bank shots are a very interesting shot. And, a lot of people get a big kick out of them because they're just fun to watch. But, they're difficult to execute. I had a student come to me and she wanted to know what a system would be for making a bank shot 100% of the time. And, I had to explain to her, there's no such thing, because there's so many variables involved. The speed of the cushions, the speed of the balls, how hard you're going to hit them, and the angles and everything. There is no mathematical system or geometrical system, or anything that's going to give you a 100% guarantee on bank shots every time. So what we need to do is understand, to begin with, that the angel that a ball goes into a cushion at normal speed is pretty much the same angle it comes out, and use that as a starting point for making bank shots. So, in other words, if, now say I've got to make this ball over in this pocket, I need to bank it over there then I have to find what contact point is on my object ball to contact the cushion over there to get me the same angle coming out. So, at first glance it looks like hitting the cushion right there would be the proper spot, let's see. That would work on that one."
