" Hello! This is Ross on behalf of expertvillage.com. Cold solder connections. Sometimes you hear that word used in a way that means, "I do not know what is going on in the circuit." It is kind of like the general fault error message that you might see in windows or check engine light. It is like anything to be wrong, I really do have a clue. Cold solder connections can be caused though when soldering when you see if you take solder here in and has some components so I am going to connect together and I have them moving around while it is cooling. There is no soldering connection. There could be a cold solder connection. I have also fixed some cold solder connections before that, looked like things were broken in the front of circuit board where the connection was or comes through, this being the component side, this being the solder side. The component will be soldered here to part of the foil that makes up the solder side of the PCD and then through impact or vibration may be the solder is broken in that connection and you go ahead and re-flow that and you might be good to go from there."
