Video Transcript

"Hi my name is Sarah Stetner, I'm a expert horse rider on behalf of Expert Village and in this segment I'm just showing you how to trim the mane. It is for showmanship and he is a quarter horse so they do want there mane even. As you can tell his mane is a little long right now if you are familiar with showing. So I'm going to go ahead and show you how to trim his mane. I just use scissors. So you want to go ahead and just get his mane all even. Go ahead and comb it out. Get it so it is laying flat and then you want to go ahead and trim a straight line. You want to keep his head still so you can get a straight line. So you can see it kind of goes up right there. I will go ahead and fix that and make that a straight line but you do want his head straight like I said. So you just want to cut a nice and even straight line all the way down his mane. You do want to use your comb again as well just to go ahead and see how good of a job that you done. Now as you can see that is not very straight this underneath piece right here needs to be cut. There is always little underneath pieces that need to be cut. So you want to get it as straight as a ruler as possible. It takes about 5-10 minutes to do this. So that is trimming up the mane. "
