" Hi my name is Sarah Stetner I'm an expert horse rider on behalf of Expert Village. In this segment I'm just going to show the quartering system. The quartering system is a tough one to learn. You do it when your horse is set up and when the judge is standing right here and is going to walk around you. So what I'm going to do is flip the horse. You want to flip the horse up into quarters. So say that he has a straight line going right through his head and right through the back of his butt. So you want a straight line from there and also a straight line right behind him withers is another place I'm going to cut him off. So you can see that in a side profile. You just want to cut him cross ways right here. Have a imaginary line and you want to have a imaginary line right here. So as the judge steps over you are going to go ahead what I like to do is go ahead and draw a straight line coming out. You want a straight line on this side. So when the judge crosses this point you are going to switch over. I will show you that in the next segment on how to the quartering system."
