"Let's demonstrate in another way how the wash is a key to a random shuffling of cards. Here I've sorted the deck sequentially by suit, this is basically the way a deck of cards comes when it is new. What we are going to do is we are going to do the wash face up. Start washing cards around and we'll do this for about like thirty seconds, I think in a casino you see them do it pretty fast. At a poker table they can get it done in about twenty seconds you see how the colors are mixing the suits are mixing. I got an eight of hearts, ten of spades, six of diamonds, jack of clubs what can be more better of an example of a random shuffling than those four cards right there. You got cards that are not sequential and they are in different suits."
