"Probably the first step in a truly random shuffle is this move right here called the wash. If you have ever been inside of a casino and looked at a black jack table or a poker table you have seen this technique. You see how the cards are getting mixed around basically randomly as I long as I make sure that I don't have a card sort of stuck to my finger, this is a random mixing of cards. I submit that if washing the cards like this is good enough for a casino it is good enough for your home game. Look at how the cards get randomly mixed around who can disagree. "
