"Robbie speaking for expert village. We're going to talk now about the electric or battery operated motors for the other side of the hobby. We were talking about the nitro engines before. Electric motors are the more simple ones you will find them in the less expensive up front. This car doesn't have a battery in it, just simply buy a battery pack their pretty standard and you would put that in underneath this bar. All of the electric cars are going to have either a brushed or brush-less motor, speed controller which is more or less the brain of the car its like without this it would be an on and off switch. It would just go and stop. This gives you the throttle that actually allows the engine or the motor excuse me the motor to accelerate decelerate and brake. Alright, two basic types of electric motors, one of them is a brush motor its more of your traditional brushed armature commutator that spins inside. The motor brushes create the energy that powers that motor. These you solder them on to different types of speed controllers that match the motor. The other style, newer, been out for really starting to come on for about the last two years now and these are your brush-less motors much more efficient, much more capable of little higher speeds, longer lasting, more efficient so you get longer runtime and better battery life out of them.
