on 8/17/2009 Is there any possibility of you actually telling us how to play the game. I.e. Instead of saying what we should do. Why not tell us how to do it. For example Instead of telling us to create a character tell us how to assign stats etc.

I think that how to videos are pretty useless unless you actually tell us how to do something. Would you not agree?

"Hello! I'm Robert Beverly for Expert Village, and now we are talking about creating characters in Dungeons and Dragons. To create a Dungeons and Dragons character, you'll want to have a player's handbook, multi-sided dice, a character sheet and your dungeon master will tell you what dice rolling method you'll use to come up with your character's ability scores. There are several different types of characters. Characters such as wizards, fighters, rogues. Depending on what your ability scores are, your character might be more suited for a different occupation such as a thief if he has high dexterity. Once you've done your dice rolls you can figure that out. To come up with an ability score you would normally roll 3 six-sided dice and add up the numbers. The first roll will be your strength, so here we would write our strength. Then we would do the same thing for dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom and charisma until we have all of our ability scores. We would select a class such as fighter. That would be your sword fighting class. This character will stick with you hopefully through several dungeons and dragons gaming sessions. Possibly through a whole year's long campaign. So you put care into these characters and make them something that you can role play. Now you know a little bit about creating characters in Dungeons and Dragons. "
