"Ossel hitch is an old hitch, it's for connecting a smaller line to a larger line. Ossel is a Scottish word, meaning gill net. Now, as you see down here I've got my large line. And, I'm going to take my smaller line and it's going to go over the top like so. I'm going to wrap it down and over and back under again. As you can see, I've got my loop here. I'll bring it back over and I'm going to go over these two and back under my line like so. Let's flip this over, so you can see it here. Now, another way you can do this is pull it back over and do it this way back over the top. That's more proper, like so. Now, let's do that one more time. Make sure we've got the Ossel hitch just right. Now, my line is going to come under my line. Go over, under, around and down, back over again. And, back over this line and through my first initial loop. There you go, a nice Ossel hitch."
