"A Rolling Hitch is actually a Clove Hitch with a little extra turn to it. It gives it a little more security and is a lot less likely to become unsecured like a Clove Hitch would. If you will look down on my table you can see I've got my little hitching post that I am going to use and my line that I am going to use. I am going to take the working end of my line and put it over and basically just create a Clove Hitch and turn it over give it a twist here and back over, give myself a little more line on my working end because I am going to need it, there we go, wrap it back under. Instead of just wrapping it back under like normal what I am going to do is wrap it back under my line like so and create a double loop on this side, then wrap it back under again. Now I am going to take my second loop and pull it back through like so. As you see I've got my double line here and here is where my knot is tied at and as you can see that this line is not even moving, all the tightness is coming through this first loop. Let's do this one more time. Pull it back, straighten out my hitching post. I'm going over with my working end, get a little more lind here, wrap it over creating my initial Clove Hitch, then back around once again crossing over the second time then back under give it a little loop here on the second loop and there we go, a Rolling Hitch.
