"A ground line hitch is a hitch that is used to attach a smaller line to a larger line, a much larger line usually. It used mostly by cod fisherman whenever they are setting their lines. So, here we're look down here. You can see, I've got my nice large line here. And, this is what I'm going to be attaching to my smaller line. So, what I'm going to do is just kind of like a clove hitch I'm going to lay it over and then wrap it under pull at the link. Then, I'm going to wrap it around again coming back up over my original loop. And, then back under. Now, this is basically a clove hitch. But, instead of tying it off under this end here. I'm going to tie it off under my standing and pull a loop in it like so. And, then pull it through. And, as you can see it creates this nice little weave in here. As you pull it in together, you can tighten it up. Now, this is nice tight hitch. And, it's not going to come loose. Let's do this one more time. Pull this out. Take our main line and we'll put a little line over it. Wrap it under, back over and another complete wrap like so. Then, we'll pull my standing line up a little loop like so. Then, I'm going to pull it through like this creating this nice ground line hitch."
