"Ok, now if I'm going around the table to the right, with my cue ball and right hand English is going to allow me to gain a little speed plus it's going to open up the angle, let me run around the table. Then what would left hand English do for me? Well, it's going to do two things. It's going to slow the ball down just a little bit more, plus it's going to make the angle steeper. We call that reverse English. What it's doing is it's reversing the natural direction that it wants to go. In other words, we're going to the right, so the cue ball keeps wanting to go to the right and running English will open the angle up more. Well, reverse English is going to slow it down and bring it off at a steeper angle. Now, let's look at this little set up here. We're going to shoot at the same spot as we did last time, only we're going to use left hand English, which we'll call reverse English. See where it ends up this time. There, see last time, with running English it came over here. With reverse English, it steepened the angle it came off over towards the corner pocket. That's reverse English because it's reversing the directing that it's wanting to go. Reversing its natural direction."
