"Hi I'm Pete Perata welcome back to Expert Village. Now we are going to get into the last of our riffle shuffle today. The side riffle shuffle this shuffle could be use for training card game. The next riffle shuffle could be done with a regular deck of cards but, it has other uses as well. In order to do a side riffle shuffle you want to get the deck pretty much in this position. Now you could use that method that I showed you earlier - like this but, then you are going to have to change your grip. So you might just want to split the cards like this to begin with. Have the cards split on each hand with your thumbs resting on the outer edges and the rest of your fingers at the inside edges. If you want to use the balance you could also push your pinkies down to the bottom of the deck but, you don't need to. Now that the cards are in this position turn the cards over like this and much like you did for the riffle shuffle like this you are going to do it with the sides of the deck. It is done like exactly like the other one except you are using the sides instead of the edges. Now that the cards are like this you could simply push them together and you have a shuffled deck. One of the reasons that you might want to use the side shuffle is with trading card game or cards that require sleeves to play them. The side shuffle gets around the problem of the cards hooking up in this sleeve. What happens if you do a straight riffle shuffle is the edges of these cards would push into each other. So if you are using sleeves on cards you might want to try the side riffle shuffle."
