Video Transcript

"So we talked about how to play early in this particular poker variant. We talked about being cautious (play tight) now the good card is coming so 4th street is dealt before anything else happens this card is going to be turned over. Look at that 9s are wild. At this point we got the ace plus the 8 and the ace plus the 3. Those are decent hands, the ace and the 8 would be the high hand if the 9s weren't wild. So this person over here with a pair of 5s is the first to act. What he's going to do is he's going to try to take down the pot because he has the advantage of knowing that he at least has a pair of 5s and doesn't have a lot going on in the whole. Except that he has a higher card than the 5 so he has a pair of 8s, he's going to bet away for 2 reasons. He wants people who are drawing want to be discouraged to go towards that draw plus you want people to say oh, well I don't have a 9 I don't have any wild cards going and that next card the bad card is coming. It's probably going to be one of my cards and so you want to bet away if you have a good hand at this point, so you can try to take down the pot right now."
