" Hello! My name is Melissa Shank, and on behalf of expertvillage.com, today we’re discussing some strategy techniques on learning how to juggle. Now, when learning how to juggle, this next segment we call the cascade: understanding the third ball. Earlier, we discussed getting rid of any old thoughts or connotations that juggling is in a circle; it’s not. We’ve tossed with one ball, we’ve gone toss, toss, catch, catch with a ball in each hand. Now, it’s time to actually understand how this third ball fits into play really. So, we’re not going to juggle quite yet, I’m just kind of teach you and talk you through what’s going to happen. The first thing is if your right handed or left handed, I’m right handed, so you want to take whatever hand you’re most comfortable with and have the two balls in that hand. Of course, you’ve got two balls in this hand, so which hand do you think we’re going to throw one ball up first with. Of course, the one with two balls. Now, what happens t this. You take one ball, you’re going to throw it up, and it’s going to be the one ball with two in the hand there, you throw it up in the air. When that ball, and again in that ark that we’ve been practicing, when that ball has hit the highest peak and it’s on it’s way back down, this is when you release the ball from the other hand. You’re going to throw that ball up. When it has hit it’s highest peak and it’s on it’s way back down, you throw this ball up. So the reason it works in juggling, it that there’s always one ball in the air. And you’ve got two hands, so you’ve got one ball up, coming down, this ball is going to go up, come down. It’s basically if you were to put it on the ground. If we can pan down on the ground for just a moment here. If you pan down here, and I put these ball on the ground, this ball is going to go up, come down, up, come down, and you can see we’re just exchanging the balls in the air. This is really what’s happening with juggling, so it’s not in a circular motion, you’re just exchanging the balls. "
